Imagin staring into a box for hours and hours upon end. just sitting there. the box moves about the same as you do.... none at all. sounds pretty boring doesn't it. Well that is what it looks like through x-ray vision when you are playing a video game Video games are comparable to drugs. They warp the mind. They create zombies out of everyday ordinary teenagers. they make people do irrational things like pay real money for fake houses. Video games make you feel good. They make you feel like you have achieved somehting. they kill time. but with every drug, there is a withdraw. For example: a high school senior just spent major money on his new system with his little brother. he loves it, he plays any and every game he finds. he loves 2 player games because he can play with his brother. well this same senior graduates from high school. he goes off to college BUT his little brother throws a temper tantrum when he tries and takes the system. So gameless the student goes off to college. And then there are term papers, quizes, and tests. No outlet. the student starts to freak out more about not having anything to play than actually worrying about the important stuff.
that is the withdraw kicking in. The urge to kill mythical beast and steal cars. gets the best of him. The kid goes on a rampage (but only makes it to the curb before getting beat up). This drug has affected this kid to the point of almost no return.
I say all this and then thats when i realize that most of the people around me im my major are afflected by this drug. It may not be a leathel drug but it is a problem that has so much of a following that in my major videogames are all I hear about.
