City

Cities have the most peculiar layout. I heard from the grapevine somewhere along the way that the design of a city was meant for people to have cars. The more i think about it the more i think its true. Unless you live right next to where you need to go, you need a car or some form of automotive transportation. There are defined sections of the cite that are meant for living, and then far away there are parts of the city meant for shopping. even more, they way of the convenient store is going out of style. It is either go big (SUPER K) or nothing at all. The advancement of these super shopping centers creates an ever present need to have a car.
Around indianapolis, bike lanes are popping up everywhere, but that is only so much faster than walking, and at a certain point it is ineffective (at least for the lazy people who make up the majority of this nation).  I want to design a city one day, almost like sim city, and i want to accommodate the non driver. I almost want to force people not to drive in this city. instead of monopolizing super-centers i want their to be local grocers every couple of miles for the average walker to get to.

Friendship

Lets talk about the dynamic design of todays friendships. And yes friendships do have a design aspect to them. There are 2 types of friendships; same gender and opposite gender. Those 2 set the dynamics of all friendships. For example a guy hanging out with another guy, a same sex friendship, can be the easiest friendship to have by design. inherently 2 guys have a lot more in common than a guy and i girl. 2 guys don't even have to have the same interests. But when it comes to a guy and a girl, thats when a design flaw in our nature becomes prominent. It is in our nature to reproduce. By putting a guy and a girl together, they must overcome their nature just to become friends. in a sense, We have broken out of our natural design to have friends that are opposite sex.

Twisted house

Check this house out. http://www.crazyjunkyard.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/twisted-house.jpg. This house is the definition of ironic. For those who don't check the link out. this house is a simple house in design but with a big twist, literally. this house is curved, just like an upside down "U." its a house no one can deny that. but its we all get it is not a functional house. so i guess the reasoning behind is was completely artistic. what this house shows is an extreme form of design over functionality.

the beauty in nature

Nature is this awe inspiring thing that has influenced human nature since the beginning. This labor day weekend i went to a lake, and for about a good half hour i stared at the trees lining the lake. they were beautiful. the way the beach met the water. even how the clouds seemed like the came from behind the trees. I can see how humans from the past saw and thought that someone had to had designed theses. they are way to magnificent for it to all be random. And in turn humans have been trying to recreate these objects, in every detail. Human have been trying to go with the most organic ideas that they can.

The Snuggie

The snuggie in theory is a great design. The sunggie is basically a backwards robe, this thing is supposed to keep a person warm with out the inconvenience of a cover which may fall off and allow the cold to touch your bones. but the problem comes up is when would someone wear something as ridiculous as a snuggie. for the purpose it serves the idea doesn't need to be fulfilled when the world is full of things like blankets and jackets we can wear backwards

The beginning of this summer I decided to write a movie. what started was a bit of random inspiration tied in with nagging determination. If you don't know what nagging determination is, it is a phrase that i have come up with for something that just bothers you until you do it. and i have come up with this movie. Now i have this crazy jumble of animals and humans all trying to do these different things.
All this has lead me to believe that focus is ultimatly the most important thing when it comes any type of project. Even the most disorganized peice of art has had hours of focus cramed into it.
